WELCOME TO FIELD-CARE
Fieldware Waxed Cotton
The beauty of our waxed cotton is it's durability and longevity …. it is built to last. The fabrics we use are from the world renowned Halley Stevensons and they are not only breathable but the wax also adjusts to ambient temperature to be softer in warm weather and stiffer, more wind proof, in cold conditions.
The densely woven cotton is strong and reliable, while the finish ensures that the fabric looks better with age. The wax naturally picks up marks and creases through use, which adds to the character of the fabric itself. They continually adapt to the wearers personality, creating unique, one-of-a-kind products.
To use our reproofing wax follow these simple instructions:
Heat the tin of reproofing wax so that it becomes pliable and easy to apply. You can place the tin into a pan of hot water and warm it gently. Evenly apply the wax with a lint-free cloth, paying attention to seams. Allow the wax to settle and dry slightly then remove any excess build up. Use a hair dryer to melt the wax into the material - allowing an even spread. Allow the material to dry in a well ventilated area for 24 hours then it’s ready to wear!
The linen used for our products at Fieldware is from the mills of Baird Mcnutt in Northern Ireland who were established on 1912. They use traditional Irish methods to produce the highest quality material. It is breathable, comfortable, cool and hangs beautifully.
You can wash our linen at 30 degrees, dry flat and and press whilst still damp to retain it’s shape. A cool tumble dry is possible but remove whilst still slightly damp to avoid shrinkage.
